Set within a beautifully landscaped twelve-acre plot, The Old Stables represents a substantial new country residence designed and delivered by Morph Design Studio. Acting as residential architects and project managers, we worked closely with the client from the earliest concept discussions through to completion on site. The design combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary living, allowing the house to sit naturally within its rural surroundings.
Designing with Context and Character
From the outset, our role as local architects focused on creating a timeless and welcoming home that would feel deeply rooted in its setting. A series of collaborative workshops explored layout, materials, and orientation to make the most of natural light and sweeping countryside views. Our design process balanced the technical precision of architectural design with the warmth and charm of handcrafted detailing, ensuring the finished home feels both elegant and enduring.
Attention to Craftsmanship and Detail
Internally, the home is defined by extensive oak detailing that showcases our commitment to quality and longevity. Exposed beams, bespoke joinery, and handcrafted staircases lend an atmosphere of permanence to every space. Acting as experienced residential architects and technical drawing specialists, we paired these traditional features with a modern material palette of stone, glass, and plaster, achieving a perfect balance between heritage and comfort.
Integration and Delivery
Our involvement extended beyond architectural design to full building project management. We coordinated consultants, integrated interior and landscape design, and provided on-site management throughout construction. Acting as a planning approval architect, we ensured that every element met both aesthetic and regulatory standards. This hands-on approach allowed us to maintain control over quality and detail from start to finish.
