The Courtyard Extension

Situated in London, we worked on the refurbishment and extension of a semi detached, 19th century property.

Being a landscape designer, at ground floor level the client wanted to establish a clear connection between the interior and exterior space.

Internally, bare brick and exposed timber form a background for the plants to flourish, with full width crittal style windows and doors flooding light to the interior spaces.

Surrounding the courtyard, the doors open fully providing the desired connection, with a new artist studio.

The chosen materials are sympathetic to the existing house, harmonising with the new extension, courtyard and carefully selected trees and foliage.
